What better way to relax on the last day of Easter and the start of a new week, than with some great deals on netbooks. Both Best Buy and TigerDirect currently have offers on netbooks.

Best Buy currently have two Asus netbook deals, but are a little shy with one. The Asus Eee PC 1000HEB is listed as $350 and doesn’t say that the netbook usually retails for $400. The Asus Eee PC 1000HD is clearly on sale though, with a huge $130 discount. Both netbooks usually retail for $400 and feature a 10 inch screen, 1GB of RAM. The 1000HD comes with 40GB more storage, totalling at 160GB and also features the latest processor, Intel Atom N280, where as the 1000HEB features the lesser speced Celeron processor.

At Tiger Direct, you can pick up a refurbished 8.9 inch Acer Aspire One for $240, where as brand new it’ll set you back $300. One draw back on the saving is that the refurbished models only come with a 3 month warranty. An extended warranty can be purchased at cost, but it drives the price up much higher than a brand new one.

When buying a netbook, there a few things that need to be considered. You need to take into account who it’s being purchased for, it’s intended use and so on. One of the most common reasons that users opt for a netbook, as opposed to a conventional laptop, is the improved portability. This brings us to our first point of consideration. Is the netbook light enough? Surely, when buying a device, aimed at portability, lightness is something to look for, but not to be sacrificed, too much, at the expense of quality.

The next thing to consider when buying a netbook is its energy efficiency. While netbooks are known for being excellent in this regard, they still vary widely and your choice should be made, intelligently, depending on the lifestyle of the person to be using it.

Our third point will be performance, the most important to some buyers. Netbooks are known to perform slightly less impressively than their standard notebook counterparts, but this is not necessarily the case. It is, however, important to search for the best performance netbook, that does not incur great costs in some other area discussed here.

Finally, we consider price. Unless money is no object for you, price is of monumental importance. Even if you are loaded with cash no-one should spend 4 times the value on anything so it’s wise to choose carefully. Sometimes, one nifty little feature, you may never use, adds hundreds to the price tag so read descriptions and pick what you need, that you can afford.
