Linux based HP Mini 1000 not headed to UK

A HP spokesperson has reported to ZDNet that the UK will not be releasing a Linux based HP Mini 1000. The Mini 1000 is only  available with Windows XP installed which will drive the price up. UK consumers are already paying above average netbook price for the netbook as HP have only released the Viviene Tam Edition Mini 1000. The HP Viviene Tam Mini 1000 Edition retails for £450. It’ll be interesting to see how well this does in the UK market considering more powerful laptops can be purchased at about the same price and similar spec netbooks retail for about half of that.
